Daily Routine V

Today we had a substitute by the name of Mrs. Buswell. Mr.Boyle had left her with instructions to assign the class with writing and essay about "The Crises" a work written by Thomas Paine. She must have felt very passionate about this piece because she told us about how it has truly opened her eyes to the revolutionary cause. The article wasn't as ground breaking for me. It just seemed as though Mr. Paine had a good grip on reality and told it how it was. He was very gifted with words and I'm sure that this work inspired not only soldiers but people all throughout the colonies. The quote we had to focus on was "these are the times that try mens souls." We were asked if the times that we were living in were also "times that try mens souls." I said that there never isn't a time that is hard on people. Some times more so then others but there is always struggle.
